A blustery day meant that the Society’s visit to the site of Ightenhill Manor had to include warm coats and stout shoes.  Thankfully it didn’t rain and the sun even showed its face at times, but it was jolly cold in that wind!

 

Tony Mitchell told members about the ancient site (now just a field) and further illustrated the historical facts with pop-up displays and a beautiful model of the manor back at Peter & Paulene’s house.

 

Refreshments followed.
