Towneley Hall Society members were joined by Towneley Hall staff and volunteers for a coach trip to Leighton Hall, near Carnforth.

A refreshment stop was made at “Country Harvest” near Lancaster  and then onward to the hall itself!

 

And what a wonderful visit!  We were made so welcome. Our fantastic guide, witty and amusing,  told us all about the history of both the hall and the families connected with the hall. Then it was up to us - a visit to the shop or the  teashop maybe, or the gardens and then a display of owls and hawks on the lawn by the hall’s resident falconer, Jim Brown.

 

And the sun shone!
